George Jr. "Chip"
A
promoter, a dancer, and an actor, Chip Greenidge has steadily survived
the Boston club scene over the last two decades. Chip Greenidge
has been a purveyor of the hip hop and house scene since the Club
M days in Cambridge in the late 80's. Chip Greenidge at his own
design was extremely instrumental on the dance and music scene in
the early 1990's and made the Hub Club as a happening spot in the
summers of 1990 and 1991 with his summer and winters dance parties.He
brought legendary hip hop DJ Clark Kent and house sensation Black
Box which are legendary shows to anyone on the scene at that time.
Chip slowed down on hosting events in the mid 1990's and was a major
frequenter and supporter of Utopia and Soul Revival for many years.
However, Chip re-emerged in 2002 and 2003 with his own REWIND Music
Dance and Poetry Sets which were held at various community spots
as centers of artistic culture. He also kicked off REWIND in the
Park in 2003 which provided on Sunday afternoons as a great social
vibe for emerging local artists to perform and ways for local Boston
DJs to spin their work. Chip works with a number of DJ as his residents.
DJ Harvey Sencion, DJ Maurice Wilkey, DJ Cruzz, and DJ Val Beats
